Group writes innovative Vision-Mission statement

Ithaca, NY - Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 4-H, and several universities gathered here last week to kick off a new project known as Our Water.  The group understood that its bold initiative - to transform the way people interact with water - would require an equally innovative organizational model.  During the three-day workshop, the group crafted a Vision-Mission statement and built a physical model of the systems they'll need to achieve their goals.

Dr. Laura Colosi, Vice President of ThinkWorks, facilitated the workshop.  "The VMCL model is powerful because it helps people in an organization understand how their individual efforts connect to the bigger picture," Colosi said.  "And the organization's leadership can instantly know how to allocate resources.  That's going to be important as Our Water moves forward."
